The AOT One Nighter Series is seeking proposals for its 2011 Series of independent exhibitions and events.
One Nighter Series proposals may consist of solo exhibitions, group exhibitions and other collaborative projects, video/film screenings, performances, lectures and workshops, and other artistic activities that can be presented in the course of one night only.
The AOT One Nighter is unique in its artistic approach. Formerly presented in the Nicollet Avenue AOT Gallery, the 2011 Series will be held in a temporary venue from Sept. 1 – Oct. 31. The goal of this project is to present high quality exhibitions that provide artists a truly creative realm in which to develop their practice in a space that is beyond the scope of their usual facilities. The One Nighter also enables artists to work in a manner outside of the traditional gallery experience where a project must be planned and completed well before it is exhibited. To the contrary, in this distinctive, artists are able to embrace a spirit of experimentation and improvisation in which a project’s success is based as much on creating a unique and energetic one-night experience as it is with aesthetic and conceptual values.
